Essential Rift related links
Hi everyone,
with the beta down I thought it would be nice to share some links.
I expect most of you already know at least some of the sites listed here but you might find something new and interesting.
At the very least you might find something to alleviate the riftdrawl(tm) symptoms a bit. ^_^
Let's get the basics out of the way first:
http://www.riftgame.com/en/
The official site, if you did not know this I wonder how you got into beta!
http://forums.riftgame.com/
The official forums
Community and news sites:
http://rift.zam.com/
A community / database / wikisite. If their portals for other MMO's are anything to go by this site will have full info on quests, items and abilities in the near future.
It also features the widely acclaimed Soulbuilder (http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html)
http://riftjunkies.com/
Features news on everything Rift and great guides for dungeons and callings. Also features zone maps and some gathering maps.
http://horrifticintentions.com/
Basically a fan-blog. The author writes about anything rift related. Latest entry is a report on the Trion fan day where a bunch of community sites were invited to a tour of the Trion office and a roundtable discussion with the devs!
http://rift.incgamers.com/
Another news and guides site. Also features a devtracker which makes it easy to find all the posts by Trion employees. Thanks to Ian for bringing this to my attention!
http://www.riftplanesoftelaraguide.net/
A simple looking site which contains a lot of guides. It has a lot of builds and info on all classes and souls. Worth a read! Thanks to Ian for bringing this to my attention!
http://forums.riftgame.com/showthread.php?76783-Guide-Info-How-to-use-a-controller-playing-rift.-%28less-hand-pain-playing%29
A guide on how you can map an Xbox controller to work with Rift. Useful for people with Carpaltunnel, Artritis or any other muscle/nerve/joint ailments to alleviate pain. Also useful if you just like to use controllers. Thanks to Ian for bringing this to my attention!
Pod- and vidcasts:
http://riftpodcast.com/
A weekly audio only podcasts hosted by Arithion and Desikis, two US based females (Ari is actually of Aussi decent) discuss the latest news and updates on various fansites. They are co-hosted by the lead community manager Cindy "Abigale" Bowens on a regular basis. The show also featurs a lot of developer intervies and such. The last two entries contain the developer round table discussion from the Trion Fanday.
The podcast can be listened to or downloaded directly from the site. Alternatively you can subscribe to them on iTunes.
http://thesanctum.blip.tv/posts?view=archive&nsfw=dc
The archive of a vidcast discussion show hosted by http://www.gamebreaker.tv/
The main host is Gary Gannon who is co-hosted by Jasmine and Josh Allen aka LORE.
Like the podcast the show discusses the latest developments in Rift with in-game video material where applicable.
The show can also be viewed live. It is broadcasted every Sunday night around midnight GMT

I just found this one a minute ago! It features a lot of low level guides that should give a decent look at how different callings and souls work.
According to one of the commentators you'll learn most if you look for what NOT to do ^_^

Does not feature a lot at the moment. Just one dungeon run of the Iron Tombs (Defiants first dungeon) and a planned weekly news vid for now.
I like the commenting on the Iron Tombs vid an I gather the caster is going to do more of that after headstart/release comes around.
https://www.youtube.com/omfgcata
As the name suggest this is not actually a rift exclusive channel. The host Jesse plays a lot of games and talks kinda randomly while he does so.
I found the early beta video's where he plays the Defiant starting zone quite entertaining. Since then he's done a few short video's. I'm not really sure but I think he will do some more come release/headstart.
Of course there is lot's more on Youtube, just search for Rift gameplay and you'll find loads. Most dungeons have multiple video's by now so there should be enough material to keep you entertained until headstart!
If any of you have suggestions for this list post them in the thread below and I'll add them to the list.
Have fun and I'll see you all come headstart!

Re: Essential Rift related links
I've noted down some very useful links as well.
How to use a controller playing rift. (less hand pain playing)
Basically lets you map a xbox controller (ps3/wii etc) to your pc so you can game without pain, perfect for people who get wrist pain and joint ache.
Another useful link is INCgamers a REALLY good website and has pretty much everything you'll ever need. Pretty decent guild too who seem to get inside info from trion.
My final must have link would probably be this one. It has lots of info, good builds, how to tank, how to level up, stats and what they do, best place to grind etc etc.
Hope you find them helpful!
